Today is the first day of spring, the spring equinox. The day that there is relatively an equal amount of dark and light, a perfect balance, an equilibrium. Most of us love this time of year. Everything is waking up, breaking free from its long dark slumber.
This is my first of what I hope to be many more blog post. I have for some years wanted to create a blog. On the days I felt good about myself, (light days), I would feel all the confidence and courage to open up and blossom. On the days that I felt anything but confident, (dark days), I came up with every excuse on earth to stay quiet and dormant. My resistance was from that ugly “F” word. No not that one, the even uglier one…FEAR. Fear of making mistakes, fear of judgement, fear of rejection. So today I’m giving the middle finger to fear. I’m actually using both “F” words together as my new mantra 😉
This morning I decided that I would go to the overlook on Pine Mountain and watch the sunrise. Looking out over the mountain I thought, If everything in nature is waking up then maybe that should be an example of how we are to do the same. Living in balance in harmony with life. I know there is a popular idea going around of being “woke”. That is not what I am talking about. This is different. This is about coming to the realization that a life well lived must be done on purpose, consciously and intentionally. It doesn’t just happen because we wish it to.
Use today to reset your intention for your life. Allow this season to help remind you of all of the good that you are. All of the good that you have been given. All of the good that you give. Focus your attention on the beautiful fact that the fluctuations of life is for you, not against you. While we know that the dark days will return, accepting that it is in the darkness that the soil of our soul is tilled. It is what we do in the darkness that will make the difference in what is birthed, and what will blossom in the light.
